Calcium metal can be used in steelmaking to produce high quality and special type steel as an additive in off-furnace refining. The calcium treatment can solve the problem of clogging of nozzle in steelmaking and control inclusions morphology and consequently improve the transverse properties of the steel.
Calcium metal can be used in battery industry to produce lead-calcium alloy which is the raw material of the negative plate of VRLAB.
In other metallurgical industry, calcium acts as deoxidize or the reducing agent of other chemical composition in smelting the nonferrous metal、rare earth metals and other metals which are difficult to be melted.
As a reducing agent, calcium also can be used to produce some medical intermediates in medical industry.
