The Electrode Paste Forum allows for the discussion of different types electrode pastes used in ferrous, chemical and nonferrous metallurgy. The pastes are made of gas-calcined anthracite (Gorlovskoye Anthracite), artificial graphite, or coal pitch. They are delivered in bags that weigh 750+-50kg.
For small 'trodes', like brass setscrews or steel studs, I clean both the shank and the stud with alcohol, put a little glue on each one, twist them together and let them set for a couple minutes. That's all there is to it. If everything is done right, the electrode shouldn't break before the glue has failed. In that case, you can usually get the electrode off with a gentle tug.
