ECA engine oil with low ash is a product that reduces the amount of ash which can deposit in the diesel particulate filtrate (DPF). These oils are for vehicles with exhaust after-treatment systems such as DPFs and three-way converters. High ash content can cause problems with these systems because the ash can clog the fine pores of the DPF or the lamellas of the catalytic converter, inhibiting the ability of the system to detoxify the exhaust gas. Low SAPS oils have a lower concentration of ash-forming substances such as sulphate or phosphorus, which reduces the risk of clogging.
Our company produces crumb rubber using waste tyres. It is processed to have a low ash content. The fine aggregate crumb rubber can be used in a variety of applications, including the manufacture of rubber and plastics products as well civil engineering projects. It's a valuable resource, as it can reduce production costs and has environmental benefits.
This research aims to integrate vegetable biomass ashes namely, eucalyptus-chip ash (ECA), Sugarcane Bagasse Ash (SCBA), and Rice Husk Ash (RHA) in mixed mortars that include cement and lime. The ashes were subjected to several tests including the characterization of particles and pozzolanic activity. The best performances were achieved in mortars with substitution rates of 15 and 30%, mainly for those containing RHA.
Chevron Lubricants, after a decade of research, has developed an ultra low ash diesel motor oil that does not compromise on either. The new Delo 600 ADF with Omnimax technology cuts sulfate ash by 60%, which significantly reduces DPF clogging, extends drain intervals and increases fuel economy. Keith Shaw, global OEM director for Chevron Lubricants spoke to us on the development of new oil as well as what it means for truckers.
