This high-purity material is a vital feedstock used for aluminum production, and it can also be used as an additive to steel. It's produced by heating petroleum coke in rotary kilns at high temperatures. The process involves removing the excess water and extracting all hydrocarbons. It also modifies the crystal structure of the coke, resulting in a more dense, electrically conductive material.
The calcination system is a complex one, with physical and chemical modifications occurring at all stages of the process. The combustible gases (volatiles) that escape from the petroleum coke are removed initially by radiation heat transfer into a higher range of temperature, causing vapor pressure, and volume contraction. Real density of petroleum coal increases as volatile matter is removed. Polymerization and decomposition also occur, which results in a remodeling of the structure.
After the calcination is completed, the coke will be cooled using natural draft air that tumbles through a long cooling tube. This cooling process cools the red-hot coke down to around 200degC, a point at which it is safe to handle and transport to storage silos or directly to shipping containers, trucks, railcars and barges for delivery to customers.
Oxbow calcined coal is used by many industries. The majority, however, goes to the primary aluminium industry as prebaked carbon anodes. We also use a significant amount of our calcined koke in the steel sector as a carburizer.
Our plant in Linzhang County is where we produce a large quantity of our calcined coal. Here we manufacture low-sulfur, sponge-like and calcined-coke. Both of these types have a high demand in the aluminum and metal industries.
Our calcined-coke has a structure that is both unique and very versatile. Uses include the production of graphite electrodes, as well as carbon additives in the production aluminum and stee. We supply our calcined koke to customers all over the world. It is known for having excellent quality and consistency. Our product range includes HDPE bags as well as palletized loads, container loads, and HDPE bagged loads. Custom processing is available on our calcined petrol coke, according to customer needs. We invite you to contact us for more information on our services and to receive a price quote. We look forward to working with you!
