Carbon Raiser For Casting Industry

It is an additive that can increase carbon in steel and iron smelting. This material also improves the mechanical properties of iron cast and removes the need for pigiron. The material is commonly used for steelmaking and cast iron. The raw materials for this product include graphite powder, anthracite calcined carbon and petroleum coke. Processes include graphitization, calcination primarily. Carbon additive has high carbon fixed content with low sulfur, impurities or ash content. It also shows a strong graphitization. The steelmaking carbon additive must be of moderate size, dry, and clean.

Recarburizer for Carbon Raiser & Casting

The recarburizer is used when producing gray or ductile cast-iron to enhance the ability of the molten material to take complex forms. The metal also cools faster, and the finished product's mechanical properties are improved. However, it is vital to remember that the recarburizer should be used only with the appropriate amount of steel scrap and temperature conditions. The molten metal can be adversely affected if the recarburizers are used incorrectly.

In order to offset the loss of carbon in the smelting, carbon raiser is primarily used for casting. Carbon-containing materials can be lost due to high temperatures during the smelting process. In order to prevent this, carbon raiser is added to the smelting furnace to compensate for these losses.

It can significantly increase the amount of scrap steel in the smelting furnace, reduce or even eliminate the need for pig iron and lower the production cost. It also can improve the quality of final products. Selection of the carbon raiser type is critical, as it can impact the quality of the finished product.

There is a wide range of graphite and recarburized carbons that are available for use in castings. Graphite-carbon additives are typically manufactured from anthracite and petroleum coke that have been calcined to high temperatures. These processes remove most of the ash and volatiles, which makes it a very good choice for use in electric furnace melting.

Recarburizers used for castings can be made of coal, petroleum coke or a mixture. They are calcined without oxygen to remove carbon dioxide and harmful gases. The recarburizers are also distinguished by their high carbon fixed content, and the graphitization processes that reduce impurities like sulfur, nitrogen and hydrogen.
