Factory Supplier Gray 3-8mm Ferro Silicon Metal Inoculant

Ferro Silicon Barium Inoculant is a bulk metallurgical material which can be used as an additive in the foundry casting process. It can promote graphitization, reduce the tendency of white mouth, refine grains, reduce segregation and make the matrix structure more uniform. It also can reduce the internal stress and wall thickness sensitivity of castings.

Product Description

Manufacturer & distributor of metallurgical powders for ferrous foundries & steel mills. Capabilities include blending, custom bagging & analysis. Distributes standard & hard-to-find metals such as aluminum; titanium; carbon, chromium & manganese ferroalloys. Also offers sputtering targets & crucibles for vacuum deposition & plasma sintering. Offers metallurgical services including custom processing, alloy development, crushing & grinding. Serves welding electrode & wire manufacture; iron casting, aluminum heat treatment & powder metallurgy industries.

Ferro silicon is an additive used to inoculate cast iron and reduce chill on edges & thin sectioned castings. It is manufactured from coke, iron scrap & quartz and smelted in an electric furnace. It can be added to gray cast iron in a proportion of 2-6 pounds per ton and to ductile iron at 7-22 pounds per ton. It is known to improve the graphite morphology, reduce white mouth and slag formation, refine the eutectic grains, decrease segregation, increase the A-type graphite and improve tensile strength and castability.

Application

The inoculant is used in the production of gray cast iron, ductile cast iron, and vermicular graphite iron to promote the precipitation of graphite, reduce the tendency of white buckle, refine the structure, and improve the cross-sectional structure uniformity. It can also increase the eutectic base, reduce segregation and slag formation, and enhance the mechanical strength of castings. The inoculant mainly consists of ferro silicon, barium and carbon. It is easy to use and has a high anti-recession ability.

Its apperance color is bright grey, the density is small and its proportion can be adjusted according to customer requirement. It has strong anti-recession, the anti-recession time is twice as long as 75 silicon inoculant and can prevent the associated spheroidization recession. Moreover, it has stable chemical composition and the processing particle size is uniform, with small deviation of composition and quality. It can be packaged in jar, pail, drum, fiberboard container, pallet box and multiply paper bag.

Packaging & Shipping

Suitable for ductile iron casting, this material is used as inoculant for deoxidation and desulfurization in the steelmaking industry. It is also an effective cast iron spheroidizing agent. This product is manufactured in an electric arc furnace by reducing silica with coke in the presence of iron (usually derived from steel scrap or iron ore). It typically takes the form of shiny, metallic-grey lumps. It is available in bulk and as pre-formed briquettes.

Ferro alloys are chemical additives that are added to molten metal during steelmaking or cast iron production in order to impart specific characteristics to the finished products. They are closely associated with the iron & steel industry, which is the largest consumer of these chemicals.

Distributor of ferromolybdenum and ferrosilicon (FeSi) as both lump and powder materials. Capabilities include agglomeration, alloy development, crushing, grinding & pulverizing, blending, classification and custom packaging. Serves the aerospace, marine, construction, power generation and transportation industries. Also offers casting, sputtering targets and welding electrode manufacturing.

Warranty

Inoculants are injected into the liquid iron to control matrix structure and avoid casting defects. They are available in a range of grain sizes to suit the location of inoculant addition within the foundry process (in furnace, ladle or stream).

Distributor of ferroalloys including ferro silicon, ferrovanadium and ferromanganese. Available in jar, pail, drum, fiberboard container, pallet box and multi-paper bulk bag packaging. Serves foundry, steel and refractory industries.

Ferrosilicon 65% is a deoxidizer and inoculant for gray and ductile iron metal alloys. It reduces chill on edges and in thin sections of castings, improves graphite shape and increases physical and mechanical properties. Typical addition rates are 2-6 pounds per ton of metal in gray iron and 7-22 pounds/ton of metal in ductile iron. Raw materials required include coke, iron ore and silica stone with SiO2 purity above 97.5%. In addition, the coke must have fixed carbon below 82% and ash content below 8%.
