High quality ferro silicon barium innoculant is suitable for grey & ductile iron foundries. It has a very good innoculatin effect and can prevent chill formation, reduce section sensitivity.

It is remelting alloy containing rare earth,silicon and magnesium. It has the advantages such as well proportioned composition, low deviation range of main element and stable reaction.

Stable Characteristics

A high quality Ferro Silicon Barium Inoculant is an iron alloy with controlled additions of Barium and Calcium. It is a superior nodulizer for grey cast iron, nodular cast iron, ductile casting iron and vermicular cast iron. It offers high nodule count, good nodularity and strong fading resistance. It also helps in reducing internal stress and sectional sensitivity.

This inoculant is also an effective deoxidizer and desulfurizer for steelmaking. It can reduce oxygen in the steel and make complicated oxide contains Ca/Ba/Si/Al easier to flow from molten steel, so as to pure the steel and improve its toughness.

The chemical composition and size can be customized according to customers’ requirements. It is available in different packages from 25kg woven plastic bag to 1 Mt jumbo bags.

High Activity

Silicon barium inoculant is a kind of iron alloy with high activity. It can reduce the occurrence of smoke and flame when joining in steelmaking, change the nature and distribution of non metallic inclusions in steel, improve metal cutting performance. It is widely used in grey cast iron, nodular cast iron, ductile cast iron and vermicular cast iron.

It can promote the graphitization of molten iron, increase the intensity of spheroidizing, make the graphite in ductile cast iron small and round, improve nodulizing grade and tensile strength. It can also effectively reduce the molten iron super-cooling degree, and prevent relevant chilling tendency.

It has a stable chemical composition, a uniform particle size, a low deviation in composition and quality, and a low melting point. It is easy to melt in inoculation processing and generates little scum.

Good Graphitization Ability

High quality calcium silicon barium inoculant has good graphitization ability, which can significantly increase the strength of gray cast iron, improve the graphite morphology and matrix hardness, control the white tendency, improve the uniformity of matrix structure and reduce the sensitivity of casting section. In addition, it can also promote spheroidization of ductile iron and inhibit the formation of eutectoid cementite.

It has a good ability to recession-proof, which can prevent the relevant nodulizing decline and improve the casting machinability of steel. Its chemical composition is stable, the processing particle size is uniform and the deviation in composition and quality is low.

It has a low melting point, which makes it easy to absorb during the inoculation process and generates very little scum. It also shows a strong chill-proof effect and can effectively prevent the chill phenomenon of castings.

High Tensile Strength

The tensile strength of grey cast iron inoculated with barium silicon inoculant is higher than that of silicone calcium inoculant. It can promote graphitization, improve the morphology of graphite, reduce white tendency and uniform the matrix structure in thin-wall castings. It can also inhibit eutectoid cementite and prevent matrix ferrite, thereby improving the mechanical properties of gray cast iron.

Compared with standard 75% ferro silicon, it has the advantages of stable chemical composition, uniform processing particle size and low deviation in the composition and quality. It has a low melting point, and it is easy to absorb melt during inoculation treatment and generates little scum. It can also resist inoculation decay and has strong anti-recession ability. It is suitable for spheroidal graphite cast iron and ductile iron.

Long Term Graphitization

A good quality ferro silicon barium inoculant can not only improve different thickness of the section structure and hardness uniformity of gray cast iron, but also promote graphitization and eliminate eutectoid cementite and scatter or reduce phosphorus eutectic. In addition, compared to 75 ferro silicon calcium inoculant, it can reduce the slag forming tendency and recession speed of molten iron.

Moreover, it is especially suitable for large thick wall castings where the pouring time is long and can avoid the formation of carburides. Besides, it has strong anti fading ability, much stronger than that of Si Fe and Si Ca inoculants. Moreover, it can help the customer to solve the problem of different strength among castings due to varying pouring time and transportation distance.
